Fantasy & Sci-Fi edition
Some of the independently published books I am really excited to read! These are a mix of series, standalones, long and short but are all in the fantasy/ sci-fi genre. Maybe one of these will end up on your own list!

This is one of the first that grabbed my eye when I was searching for a new fantasy series. The cover is fantastic and I am very intrigued by the summary. It sounds like there is some romance here. I’m not a huge fan of romance as a main plot line so hopefully this romance adds to the overarching plot!
Every book in this series has stunning covers. The artist behind these is extremely talented. I’ve also heard very positive reviews on this series and the writing style. I love a main character that breaks the mould. There is lots of room in this for some fantastic character development and I want to read all about it!

I have never heard of this book before but I came across it on a late night roam of Reddit boards and was gripped by the summary. It sounds action-packed and filled with politics. It’s also good to break up the larger series with a standalone so I’m excited to dive in.
This is a smaller book but after devouring Sword of Kaigen, I have an inner need for more samurai stories, especially with female main characters. The summary sounds similar to my own inner monologue so I’m hoping for something more light hearted. Let’s find out this year!

This was originally not on my list but as I was writing up my list I came across this gem. Gorgeous cover with the promise of dragons (anyone else a sucker for a dragon?). I have so many epic fantasy series I need to finish but here I am, adding another!
The book that has been on my list the longest. I love everything about this. A very promising story, wonderful art, and I’ve heard some very good reviews.
This book got silver in the 2021
Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) for BEST SCI-FI/FANTASY/HORROR.

A Sea of Song and Sirens if you like slow burn enemies to lovers
Thanks for the rec, I’ll check it out!
