I have so many books and I read lots of books. I’ve found apps such as Goodreads, Storygraph and Fable only get me so far. I’ve used so many reading templates over the years that I’ve combined all the best bits of the one’s I enjoyed and the bits I wish I had in this incredibly simple and easy to use Google Sheet.
2025 Reading Trackers – Free!
The first tab is where you’ll put every book you own, either physical, audio or digital. I like to keep a record of what I own and of those, which one’s I’ve read. (It also helps my family with gift giving so they no longer buy me books I already own!).
The second tab is a reading log. Us readers know that we don’t necessarily own every book we ever read (if only..) so this tab is a record of all the books you’ve read. Again, a quick search of this tab will help you remember what you’ve read, and the longer you keep it going the more accurate it is!
Each tab has 1000 lines.. you read that right! With the option to add another 1000 should you run out of space. I encourage you as much as possible!
These tabs come with some very simple but interesting graphs to inform you how you’ve rated books, how many genres you have, in what format do you read etc.. The amazing thing with these is that you don’t have to do a thing. They will auto-populate as you fill in the template – isn’t that neat!
As much as I love graphs and statistics, I also find them very overwhelming so I’m afraid you won’t find a huge amount of graphs and tables. Perhaps in the future I’ll add a more detailed template for the data goblins out there that want to see their statistics all in one place! More to come In
